Visvesvaraya Industrial & Technical Museum

The Visvesvaraya Industrial and Technical Museum is on Kasthurba Road. Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, who was the Prime Minister of India at that time, opened the Museum. It is over an area of 43000 square foot area and got opened in the year 1962. It is in the calm areas of Cubbon Park.

On July 27, 1965, the Museum opened its doors to the public with its gallery. The Museum, created with the idea of a 'Science Museum,' has four floors. It gets devoted to a different scientific field, with the top floor turned into a food court.

The Wright Brothers' Kitty Hawk, flying Stimulator, and other things inspired the design of the vault. The background has images of shifting planetary locations. The center has seven gallery exhibits with a variety of steam engines and motors. It also has a virtual gaming area and a facility with 3D visual displays. The events in the Museum

• How Things Work Gallery - The gallery has a little visual version of a middle school physics textbook. It has a pulley, lever, and other lever examples.
• Electro Technical Gallery - As its name says, this artwork shows how communication works. It experiments using Faraday's Ring, Barlow's Wheel, and Oersted's Principles. The Space Emerging Technology in the big service of Mankind. It shows human accomplishments both in and outside of space. The Museum, the first scientific gallery devoted to space, gets supported by research.

• The Museum's history - A science museum got proposed to recognize Sir M. Visvesvaraya. After that, Shri B. D. Jatti laid the foundation stone on September 15, 1958. The prime minister opened it on July 14, 1962. The gallery opened to the general public in 1965.

The National Council of Science Museums assumed care and control of the Museum in 1978. The building was altered, and a new addition was made the following year, bringing the total square feet to 74,000 sq. ft. As of 1984, it had three more locations also.

How to get to the Museum

The Museum is near the Supreme Court and High Court in the center of the city. You can ride the metro and exit at the purple line's Cubbon Park station. You can hire a local rickshaw from the station to the Museum. Another simple way to go is by ordering a private taxi. The following buses travel along the route: 150, 154, 291, and 294C.
